Dr. Arnab Bhattacharya

Post Doc Student (CSIR RA)

I have completed my undergraduate in chemistry major from Calcutta University (Asutosh College) and post graduation in Chemistry from IIEST, Shibpur, West Bengal. Since 2018, I have been working as a Graduate Student (CSIR-JRF) in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar. Currently, I am working as a CSIR-SRF.

Research area of interest: Primarily, I an targeting in the development of optical sensors to be useful for the detection-cum-measurement of various disease-linked biomarkers as well as monitoring different cellular events. Another objective of my research involved in the development of readily deployable detection kits for environmental monitoring such as early warning systems to detect chemical warfare agents (CWAs), particularly phosphorus containing nerve agents, and different nitro aromatic compounds, PAHs, and VOCs.

Hobbies: Cricket, trekking, painting.

I have completed undergraduate in Chemistry (Major) from Calcutta University and post graduation in Chemistry (Inorganic Chemistry specialization) from The University of Burdwan. Since 2019, I have been working as a graduate student in CSIR-CSMCRI.

Research area of interest: My graduate work specifically targeted in the development of optical probes for studying various biologically important species particularly, different cancer biomarkers.

Hobbies: Music and traveling.

I have completed my undergraduate in Chemistry (Major) from Vidyasagar University in 2018. In 2020, I have completed my post graduation from Presidency University (Kolkata).

Research area of interest: Since I joined CSIR-CSMCRI in 2021, I have been working in the development of assays to be effective for the point of care uses. Another objective of my graduate work is aimed in the development of materials for the detection-cum-removal of environmentally hazardous species such as toxic gases, nerve agents, hazardous organic solvents, etc.

Hobbies: Travelling

I have completed my Ph.D. (Chemistry) in 2017 from Tripura University. Since 2019, I have been working as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the AESD & CIF department of CSIR-CSMCRI.
